Boarding FAQ

My cat has never stayed in a cattery before. I am worried he/ she will not settle.

Some cats can be very nervous and anxious when they are introduced to new surroundings. This is why we advised you write a little note explaining your cats likes and dislikes, this will allow us to gain your cats trust and make them feel at home. We highly advise bringing a familiar item from home such as a blanket or a top. The familiar scents help to reassure your cat and make them feel safe. We can also use Feliway spray for your cat which can help too. If your cat requires Feliway we require notice prior to your cats arrival as the spray requires atleast 15 minutes to settle in the suite before introducing your cat. We update you! We are more than happy to keep you updated! We send via Whatsapp or email any photos or videos we may get of your cat(s). Please note updates are not everyday, you will recieve a minimum of one update whilst your cat is on holiday with us! If you have given permission for us to publish photos of your cat on our social media then he/she might make an appearance on there! We tailor our approach and care to each cat All cats have different personalities and therefore each one will become settled in his/ her own way. Some cats are bold and will settle instantly even if they have never been away from home before. More commonly cats that come for their first stay can be a bit wary and unsure to start with. It is completely normal for your cat to hiss at us when they first come in. Many cats don’t eat very well for the first day or two, but once they are more settled in their new environment they regain their appetite. We recognise that each cat is individual, and so we tailor our approach and care to each one according to their specific needs.

What do I need to bring for my cats stay?

Before check-in please read our checklist.

My cat is an indoor cat. Is Meow Manor suitable for him/her?

Yes. We have many indoor cats who stay with us, who are completely happy and at home in the cattery. The indoor section ensures that they can stay as warm as they are used to at home whilst the outdoor area provides an added option should they wish to explore further. We spend lots of time will all our guests every day. Having 5 indoor cats ourselves we know how important stimulation is which is why we have a range of toys to keep all our guests stimulated throughout their stay with us at Meow Manor Cattery.

Does my cat need to be vaccinated?

NO VACCINATION = NO BOARDING All liscenced catteries should require your cat(s) to be fully up to date with their vaccinations and make you provide evidence. If they don't then please don't use them! *Adult cats (1 year +) Must have recieved their initial primary course of injections, a minimum of 2 injections 3-4 weeks aparts. Must have recieved annual booster within 12 months of the kitten primary vaccination course followed by an annual booster every 12 months after. * Kittens also need vaccinations. Please ensure they have their primary course of vaccinations and allow 2 weeks after second vaccine before boarding. Harsh as it may sound, NO VACCINATION = NO BOARDING as we need to protect all our guests.
